design philosophy
We believe that every project we undertake is unique in every way, hence, we consciously do not produce or believe in designs that follow a style or genre. We are therefore centered as a design firm on creating new or emergent experiences by addressing the particular site, programme, economic objectives, environmental conditions, legislative framework, social & historical context, cultural syntax particular to each project.
In all of the work by A D Lab, there is an intensive search for a convergence of solutions that are lean, environmentally sustainable, adaptive and human well being centric.

A D Lab’s 3 principals – all former university lecturers - bring their distinct design backgrounds to the partnership though rigorous collaborative processes. As sole design authors of all projects, they maintain conceptual and technical responsibility through all stages, from research through to realization. The trio are supported by associates and through long standing affiliation have become key collaborators in shaping the studio’s identity and evolution
